Happy A-Level Results Day!

Today, August 17th, is A-Level Results Day which means students up and down the country are receiving the culmination of their A-Level courses.

For many, this day had been a long time coming and has been the cause of much anxiety.

We really hope that everybody, students and staff alike, are happy with their results and that it truly reflects all the hard work put into their courses.

However, as with everything in life, some people will be disappointed with the little letters they find in those envelopes.

2017, is expected to be particularly emotional as this years A-Level graduates are the first cohort to have sat their exams at the end of both years (previously both year 1 and 2 of A-Level courses had exams.) For this reason, A-Level Results Day 2017 has been a particular interest and cause of bewilderment for universities and education ministers, as well as young people and educators.

As a consequence, admissions teams are likely to be slightly more forgiving, and it is possible that you may be accepted onto a course even if your grades didn’t quite meet the mark. So before you fret, please check UCAS Track, speak to your chosen universities.

In the meantime, you can have a browse through Loud’s Results Day edition. It can be viewed on a tablet as well as mobile phone, so can be a quick read if you’re waiting at school or are being kept on the phone. The magazine features pieces on Adjustment, a panic- free guide to Clearing, what to do if you’re uncertain of your choice and how to spend your gap year

Whatever your situation, there are plenty of options. Above all, although it is easier said than done, just try to relax. You’ve just finished some intense courses and have no doubt been under a lot of stress. Congratulate yourself, even if you didn’t get the results you were hoping for. You’ve made it through A-Levels, and that in itself is quite a feat.
