What’s On:
20th October: An Introduction to the Russell Group and Why Choose to Study There
The series opens with the big picture, what and why. This session is ideal for students who have heard the name "Russell Group" but aren't sure what it means in practice. Panellists will explain what the Russell Group is, why they set themselves apart from other universities, and what students can expect from studying at one. If you are still deciding whether a Russell Group university is right for you, this is the perfect place to start.
21st October: Student Life at University
As we know, University is about far more than lectures and exams. This session looks at what daily life is really like. It can be daunting, living away from home, making friends, joining societies and sports clubs, as well managing your time and looking after your wellbeing. This is a great opportunity to hear what the student experience looks like and to ask the questions you might want answered before considering a school.
22nd October: Advantages of Going to University and Graduate Employability
Many students and families ask the question: is university really worth it? This webinar explores the benefits of higher education, from academic and personal development to career prospects. Panellists will also discuss graduate employability, including how universities support students in building skills and experience that employers value. Anyone thinking about what life after graduation will look like will find this session especially useful.
27th October: Researching University Options
With so many universities and courses to choose from, knowing where to look makes all the difference. This session offers practical advice on comparing universities and courses, making the most of open days and online resources, and narrowing down a shortlist that suits your goals and interests. If you have been overwhelmed with options, without a clear plan, this webinar will help you research with purpose.
29th October: Personal Statements and Applying to a Russell Group University
The final session tackles the application itself. Panellists will share guidance on writing a strong personal statement and navigating the application process, with insight into what universities look for. Because the Q&A is run by Russell Group universities, you can put your questions directly to the people who understand the process best.
