Newbury College

Newbury College offers around 2,000 full and part time courses. Part time courses are delivered at over 50 local venues across West Berkshire. The College is situated in beautiful rural West Berkshire and was purpose built in 2002. It offers state of the art facilities in a modern, new, fully accessible building.

Newbury College is an Associate College of the University of Reading and we also run Higher Education courses with Southampton Solent University. We are very proud to have achieved certification in the Training Quality Standard. Along with IiP, the Matrix award, and Action for Inclusion this award confirms the high standard and quality of training and development that we offer to the wider community and to business.

Higher National programmes are vocational undergraduate qualifications (like a degree). A full-time Higher National Certificate (HNC) takes one year to complete, or two years part-time. Many HNC courses cover the same subjects as an HND, but an HNC is one level below an HND (generally equivalent to the first year at university).

A full-time HND takes two years to complete, or three to four years part-time. Generally an HND is the equivalent to two years at university. Newbury College offers a range of higher education courses in vocational subjects.
