University of Huddersfield

Surrounded by rolling hills and sweeping countryside, Huddersfield is a hidden gem situated in the heart of Yorkshire. This is one of the reasons why 23,000 people choose to study at the University of Huddersfield.

The University of Huddersfield is a growing centre of research and excellence and we always push the boundaries of knowledge. Our academic staff are continually rated as providing high quality teaching in an exciting and stimulating environment. We are proud to be rated as number one in the UK for our assessment and feedback as well as being top ten in England for student satisfaction.

We work with some of the biggest and best companies in the UK and overseas to ensure you have the best possible opportunities during your time at Huddersfield. Our students have gone on to work for companies like The BBC, Sky, Burberry, Red Bull F1 and KPMG to name but a few.

Placements and sandwich courses are a key part of student life at Huddersfield. We know how much employers value graduates who have real-world experience on their CV and that is why we encourage all our students to make the most of the opportunities available during your time at Huddersfield.

Many of our students return from their placement year with sponsorship and the offer of a permanent job from their host company, and this is reflected in our excellent graduate employability record. We are in the top ten in the UK and top in Yorkshire for graduate employability - 94% of our undergraduate and 93% of our postgraduate students are in work or further study six months after graduating - and a lot of this is down to the invaluable work experience students gain whilst studying at Huddersfield.

The University is growing its reputation as a leader in the field of Enterprise. In 2012 the University was awarded the prestigious Times Higher Education Entrepreneurial University of the Year and followed this up in 2013 when we were awarded two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise. We have helped a number of graduates to set up their own successful businesses and have a fantastic Enterprise Team who are here to help you with your ideas and make sure they get off the ground. Our state-of-the-art 3M Buckley Innovation Centre is a great hub for students who wish to set up their own business and provides a great opportunity to network with other students and local businesses.
