With an international reputation for the quality of our research in many diverse fields across the sciences, arts, and humanities, Plymouth University is one of the leading research universities in the South West.We have research projects and partnerships in countries across the globe, from the Arctic to Australia - and we continue to grow. Plymouth prides itself on meeting the needs of all those in the regional, national, and international community.

 

Our research community is based around a central structure of five Institutes and twenty-four Centres engaging in world-leading research in a vast array of subject areas. The Institutes are : Cognition Institute, Marine Institute, Institute of Health and Community, Pedagogic Research Institute, Institute for Sustainability Solutions Research and the Institute of Translational and Stratified Medicine.

University of Plymouth Students' Union

UPSU is an independent registered charity that seeks to represent all the students of Plymouth University. We facilitate student representation at all levels, host the sports clubs and societies, manage campus sport facilities and provide volunteering opportunities, independent advice, entertainment, shop, accommodation, catering and bars.

UPSU is student led and democratic. The majority of our trustees are elected student officers and all of our major decisions are made by students
