University of St Andrews

Over the last 600 years, the University of St Andrews has established a reputation as one of the world’s leading research and teaching centres. Today, we offer a flexible degree structure based on your choice of subject specialism or research, creating an environment which nurtures inquisitive minds and a culture of shared learning.

St Andrews is a unique place to study and live. Nestled on the east coast of Scotland, students may find themselves crossing golf-courses on their way to class, or jogging along the beach after dinner. Not only does the University have a world-class reputation, it also offers a diverse range of social activities - including over 140 student societies and 50 sports clubs. The historic buildings are juxtaposed against the modern facilities, and the many student traditions truly make studying at St Andrews an unforgettable experience.

The University of St Andrews offers a broad range of postgraduate studies, with more than 1,000 postgraduates currently studying in one of our four Faculties of Arts, Divinity, Medicine and Science. St Andrews is a remarkable and exciting institution which combines the cosmopolitanism of an international university with a strong sense of community derived from its location in a small and ancient town. The scale of the University allows us to compete successfully for private and public funding for our path-breaking research while being small enough to provide individual attention to everyone who chooses to study here. We believe we combine the best of the global and the local. We hope you agree.
